Chrissy Haislip, M.S., CCC-SLP Director
(Pictured with her niece, McKenna) Chrissy started her private practice in 2000, shortly after moving to Jacksonville, FL. With 19 years of experience, she has done it all from newborn hearing screenings to publishing & seminars. In addition to business operations, Chrissy currently is the lead evaluator for children referred by Jacksonville Children's Commission. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with all her animals!

Carrie Newell, MS, OTR/L
(Pictured with her son, Jack) Carrie received her Masters in Occupational Therapy from University of St. Augustine. She has been practicing OT for 8 years with a specialization in Pediatrics. She has had extensive training and education in the areas of fine motor/handwriting development, sensory integration and motor coodination disorders. Outside of her career, she enjoys being a mom and spending time with her family.

Paige (Phillips) Leonard, M.S., CCC-SLP
(Pictured with her nephew, William.) Paige received her master’s degree in Communication Disorders from Valdosta State University in 2007. She has been working as a speech language pathologist in the private schools and daycare settings serving students with a variety of speech/language and reading disorders. Paige enjoys traveling and spending time with friends and family.

Carrie Watson, M.S. CCC-SLP
Carrie received her master’s degree from Valdosta State University in 1997. Since that time, she has practiced in a variety of settings in the Jacksonville area including hospitals, nursing homes, home care and school settings. She has always worked with pediatrics in some capacity and finds her work with children to be very rewarding. Carrie is currently working part time, allowing herself time with her husband and two small children.

Christie Cosby, OTR/L
Christie graduated from the University of Florida a long time ago. She has been a pediatric occupational therapist for the last 11 years. She has worked in early intervention, school, home, and outpatient settings. She is a certified handwriting specialist with Handwriting Without Tears. She finds helping children and their families reach their greatest potential extremely rewarding. Christie most enjoys watching her own two children discover the world and grow before her eyes.

Practicing since 1998, Brandee Charles is passionate about improving communication. She earned her Master's Degree in Communicative Disorders at the University of Central Florida. She has worked in a variety of settings, serving all ages and stages of development.

Anne Hastay Camelo, M.S., CCC-SLP
(Pictured with her daughter, Leticia)Anne received her Master's degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Radford University in 2006. She loves working with the pediatric population and their families, watching them grow and meet their goals. She truly believes that all people involved in a child's life - teachers, parents, peers, (and therapists!) all impact that child's growth and development, and we all can make a positive difference :) She spends her free time with her 1 year old daughter, who keeps her very busy doing exciting new things every day!

Claire Goodrich, MA, CCC-SLP
Claire is a native of Ohio and has been a resident of Jacksonville with her husband Brad and daughter Kaia for the last 8 years. She attended undergraduate school at the University Of Central Florida earning a degree in Communication Disorders in 1995 and and earned her Masters of Arts in Hearing and Speech Science at Ohio University in 1997. Her work experience includes the Florida public schools systems serving Pre-K through middle school students and outpatient clinics serving both pediatric patients and adults. She took a break from speech therapy to be a Mom to her daughter and became educated in the field of nutrition. She started a home based nutrition business. Claire is excited to bring her therapy skills back into play in a in the Montessori environment. In her spare time, Claire enjoys traveling with family, Zumba, Pilates, outings with her daughter and reading with her book club.

Emily Levenson, M.S., CCC-SLP
(Pictured with her son) Emily graduated from the University of North arolina at Greensboro in 2006. She has been working as a therapist in the school and clinic settings for the past three years, but spent many years prior to to that working with pre-k and school-age children in educational settings. Emily particularly enjoys helping develop early literacy and writing skills. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with my husband and son, cooking, and traveling.

Vanessa Urchek, M.S.CFY-SLP
Vanessa Urchek received her master’s degree in Communication Disorders from Florida State University in August, 2009. She has worked in a variety of settings including a university clinic, a public school, a nursing home, and also for Nemours children’s clinic in Jacksonville. She is a recent addition to the staff at The Therapy Closet! She loves working with children of all ages, and in her free time, she enjoys spending time with friends, reading, and going to the beach.

Kim Tees, M.S.,Personnel Mgr & Payroll
(pictures with her daughter, Emerson and son, Grady) Kim received a Bachelor’s Degree in Speech Pathology and Audiology from Florida State University and a Master’s Degree in Gerontology from the University of South Florida. She started her career as a SLP working with children in the public school system. She then transitioned to working with the elderly population as a geriatric care manager. Kim is now a stay at home mom and handles administrative duties for The Therapy Closet. She is also currently working on her Master’s degree in SLP through FSU’s SLIDE program.

Mary Dorsey, MA, CCC-SLP
Mary is originally from the great state of West Virginia . She received her Masters degree from the University of Central Florida in 2006. Mary enjoys working with the pediatric population and her experience involves working in hospitals, outpatient clinics, daycare settings, and the public school system. Mary is dedicated to sharing meaningful communicative experiences with her students each and every day. In her free time, she loves to travel, play tennis, and has recently discovered a love for cruises. She is currently busy planning her upcoming nuptuals for this fall.
